The Master’s Book Club

Professor Sharon Peacock FMedSci CBE in conversation with Mr Allen Packwood & Lord Richard Dannatt, authors of Churchill’s D-Day: The Inside Story

March 20 @ 6:00 pm 7:00 pm

Hosted at Churchill College, Cambridge by Professor Sharon Peacock, the Master’s Book Club series delves into some of the recent books published by members of the College. Wide-ranging discussions with the authors will shed new light on aspects of our past, present and future that connect with how we live today.

Join us to hear from Allen Packwood, Churchill College Fellow and Director of the Churchill Archives Centre, about Churchill’s D-Day: The Inside Story, a book on which he collaborated with General Lord Richard Dannatt, a former Chief of the General Staff and member of the House of Lords.

In conversation will explore this pivotal moment in history through the eyes of two renowned authors. Illustrated with key documents from the Centre’s collections, the discussion will strip away the layers of hindsight and reveal something of the complex debates that raged behind the scenes of Operation Overlord.

Entry is free but this is a ticketed event and booking is essential. The event will be followed by a drinks reception at 7pm.
