Professor Christopher Mairs was an undergraduate at Churchill College, graduating in Computer Science in 1979. He is now an angel investor focused on deep tech and a Venture Partner at Entrepreneur First. He was a co-founder and CTO of Metaswitch Networks, including a period working in Silicon Valley. He was also Chairman of Magic Pony Technology, acquired by Twitter in 2016. Chris is a Fellow of the Royal Academy of Engineering and was awarded a CBE in the 2014 New Year’s Honours List.

In 2017 Chris completed a 3,600 mile tandem ride across America. Being blind himself, he raised £150,000 to restore sight to 5000 cataract sufferers in India, Namibia, Cambodia and elsewhere.
