During these testing times it’s reassuring to hear about all of the hard work being done by the Churchill Community to both manage and inform about the Covid-19 pandemic, as well as other work and achievements that have taken place. Here’s what has been happening in the last few days.
COVID-19
Statistician Professor Sir David Spiegelhalter commented on early COVID-19 vaccine efficacy, and on what will happen to Covid infection rates when lockdown ends.
Economist Professor Diane Coyle has written the latest piece in the University’s Beyond the Pandemic series, where she argues that to heal social fractures, we must focus on giving people across the whole of the country access to the opportunities they need to improve their lives.
IN OTHER NEWS
Fellow and Social Psychologist Dr Sander van der Linden joined BBC Radio 4’s All in the Mind, discussing how to pre-bunk misinformation with mild doses of the methods used to disseminate fake news.
Fellow Professor Priya Gopal, spoke about what a Biden win in the presidential election means for Britain and Ireland.
