We are delighted to report that more than 130 alumni of the College, alongside a number of Fellows, have helped meet our matching fund challenge by donating almost £170,000 to the College’s Covid-19 contingency fund by the 30 June.
This fantastic level of support has enabled the College to unlock the full matching pot of £150,000, more than doubling the overall contribution to the fund. Thank you so much on behalf of all our students and the College community to all those who were in a position to help meet this challenge at such an unprecedented time.
The Covid 19 contingency fund was launched to help cover core College cost and meet the increased need to support our students. Having these funds available will enable the College to support more hardship grants, bursaries and student services at a time when the College is facing a £1.3 million drop in income caused by the pandemic.
Hear more from our Acting Senior Tutor, Dr Lisa Jardine-Wright about the positive impact this incredible support will have on our students and the community at Churchill.
